The Crown Round

Declaration, response, evaluation

Prototype v0.1 uses 10 total Reign, at least 6 aligned to the secret Path, a standing Champion, the matching Crown Proof, and one complete opponent response sequence. This is a PROVISIONAL LOCK.

Declaration

At the beginning of Command, an eligible House may reveal its secret Path, verify at least 10 total Reign with at least 6 aligned, announce the matching Crown Proof, and place the Crown marker beside its Champion. Verification is untimed. After verification, reset the one-minute glass; the claimant completes Command and Gesture. Traverse has already occurred, and declaring does not consume Command.

Response Round

Each opposing House receives one normal, complete House Turn in regular turn order. These are not bonus activations; normal exhaustion, reactions, action limits, and timers apply. Opponents may attack, stabilize, negotiate, raise or reduce Chaos, contest or reclaim sites, disable structures, affect Accords, play legal cards, or refuse to interfere. The claimant may use legal reactions. Only one Crown attempt may be active. Another eligible House must wait until the current attempt succeeds or fails.

Evaluation

Evaluate only after every opponent has completed its response turn. Temporary disruption may be repaired before evaluation: a Champion may be stabilized, a site reclaimed, Chaos reduced, or a qualifying structure restored. After the final response, resolve mandatory end-of-turn effects, required end-of-round or end-of-cycle procedures, and any Breaking Point. Then verify the Champion is standing, the claimant still has 10 total / 6 aligned Reign, and the matching Crown Proof still holds. If every requirement holds, award the Crown immediately and end the game. No additional roll is required.

Failure and reattempt

If any requirement fails at evaluation, remove the Crown marker and 2 Reign from the declared Path. Completed achievements remain recorded, but lost Reign does not regenerate automatically. Place a Crown Lock marker on that House. It clears at the beginning of the next cycle after the failure; the House cannot declare again before then. Before responses begin, any player may request a public recount. An ineligible declaration is cancelled without the two-Reign penalty; ambiguous or undocumented achievements do not count.

Interruptions and priority

If Chaos reaches 6, pause the Crown Round, resolve Breaking Point, reset Chaos to 3, then resume the interrupted response turn at the same phase. Breaking Point is not a response turn and cannot directly award the Crown. Simultaneous effects resolve mandatory effects first, then active-player effects, then clockwise. Normal combat ties still hit. A Crown Round never uses a Final Bell roll or tiebreaker.
