What This Book Is Not

A Monster Manual analogue that refuses to invent the eight

Aegis Reign’s Encounter module is eight cards: six regular, two large. They are OPEN. House, name, stats, ability, cost, rail timing, and UV resonance require source recovery. This Bestiary does not write them.

What it does: it gives the table a legal way to drop a D&D-style creature onto the 24 × 24 when you want a fight that is not yet an official Encounter. Use it for a Seed hazard, a Breaking Point token with teeth, or a one-off that you record in the Foundry change log as optional.

How to use a chimera at this table

  • It occupies a coordinate like a character. Adjacent means the eight surrounding cells.
  • Hit, then damage. The Bestiary uses D20 + bonus to hit and a separate damage roll, matching the Player’s Handbook.
  • It is not a House. It has no Path, no Reign, no Accord.
  • Defeating it does not score Conquer Crown Proof unless a later lock says an official Encounter was defeated.
  • If Chaos is involved, use printed Chaos cards and Breaking Point. Do not let a chimera add Chaos unless you are using a site-destruction or a logged house rule.
Tokens read. Terrain seduces. Invented Encounters do not become canon.
