Aegis, Emerald-Violet

Medium construct (aegis), lawful neutral. the First Suit. CR 20.

Armor Class22 (scale plates)
Hit Points310 (20d8 + 220)
Speed40 ft., fly 40 ft. (wing-blades)
ScoresSTR 22 DEX 18 CON 22
INT 16 WIS 16 CHA 18
SavesStr +12, Con +12, Wis +10, Cha +11
Resistancesfire, lightning, necrotic; bludgeoning, piercing, slashing from nonmagical
Immunitiespoison, exhaustion, disease
Sensesblindsight 30 ft., darkvision 120 ft., passive Perception 20
Challenge20 (25,000 XP)

Traits

Aegis Frame. The suit is a creature. It does not need air, food, or sleep. If reduced to 0 hit points it becomes an empty frame on its coordinate; a Specialist may spend Command and 2 Materials to restore 50 hit points instead of destroying it.

Feather Heart. Once per Age, when the Aegis would take a wound that would drop it, the chest-feather flares. Damage from that hit becomes 0. This is not a Relic Invoke.

Magic Resistance. Advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Actions

Multiattack. The Aegis makes two Wing-Blade attacks and one Claw.

Wing-Blade. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d10 + 7) slashing plus 10 (3d6) force.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d8 + 7) slashing. The target is grappled (escape DC 20) if it is Large or smaller.

Violet Pulse (Recharge 5–6). A 20-foot radius of violet force. DC 20 Dexterity save, 45 (10d8) force on a fail, half on a success. Constructs and Aegis frames have disadvantage.

Legendary actions

Aegis, Emerald-Violet can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below.

Step. The Aegis moves up to half its speed without provoking.

Blade. One Wing-Blade attack.

Seal (Costs 2). Until the start of its next turn, AC becomes 24.

Tactics. Close, lock a Champion in the claw, pulse when two Houses share a coordinate.

The emerald-violet Aegis is Dragon Feather provenance: a suit with a feather for a heart. It is not a House Champion. It is not a printed Encounter. It is a table-side epic you may seat as a Seed hazard or a Breaking Point token with teeth.

Aegis, Crimson Mantle

Medium construct (aegis), lawful evil. folded and deployed. CR 19.

Armor Class21 (scale plates)

Resistancesfire, radiant; nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, slashing
Immunitiespoison, exhaustion
Sensesdarkvision 120 ft., passive Perception 18
Challenge19 (22,000 XP)

Traits

Mantle System. Folded: speed 40, AC 21, the mantle hangs as a cloak. Deployed (bonus action): fly 60 ft., reach of Ember Pinions becomes 15 ft., and the Aegis sheds dim ember light in 20 feet.

Pact Heat. A creature that starts its turn grappled by the Aegis takes 10 (3d6) fire.

Actions

Multiattack. Two Ember Pinions. While deployed, it may replace one with Crushing Step.

Ember Pinions. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 10 ft. (15 ft. deployed), one target. Hit: 20 (2d12 + 7) slashing plus 7 (2d6) fire.

Crushing Step. The Aegis slams a coordinate. Each creature on it or adjacent, DC 21 Strength save or be knocked prone and take 22 (4d8 + 4) bludgeoning.

Legendary actions

Aegis, Crimson Mantle can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below.

Fold or Deploy. Switch mantle state.

Pinion. One Ember Pinions attack.

Ash Wake (Costs 2). Leave a 10-foot line of difficult ember terrain that lasts until the Aegis’s next turn.

Tactics. Deploy to pin fliers and Champions. Fold to hold a site. Do not sit still.

The crimson mantle is the same Dragon Feather frame in a Conquer color. Co-rule with Valoris does not make this a Valoris suit. Paint it ember and soot.

No Flight. The Cage has no wing structures. It cannot gain a fly speed by any means while this plate is seated.

Containment. A Large or smaller creature grappled by the Cage has speed 0 and cannot Traverse. Escape DC 19.

Coal-Feather Brand. When the Cage takes fire damage, it instead gains 10 temporary hit points (once per round). The core is unstable: if it starts its turn at 0 temporary hit points after using this, each creature within 5 feet takes 7 (2d6) fire.

Actions

Multiattack. Two Crushing Fists.

Crushing Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) bludgeoning. If both fists hit the same target, it is grappled.

Suppression (Recharge 5–6). Each creature within 10 feet, DC 17 Strength save or be restrained until the Cage’s next turn as a null-field locks the joints.

Tactics. Walk onto the claimed site. Grapple the flyer. This plate is the ancestor, not a second Champion.

First iteration. Incomplete pauldron by design. Foundry notes: Veyrhold Cathedral-Foundry. Further iterations were not abandoned — they became First Feather, then Twin Mantle.
