Cardboard First

A set you can play on Saturday

If you skip cardboard you will over-carve foam for a ruleset that still has OPEN encounter slots. Cut a Test A set this week. Paint comes after the second session, not before the first.

Saturday kit

  1. Flatten good corrugated. Cross-laminate two layers with PVA. Weight under books overnight.
  2. Rule 1-inch squares. Cut 1×1 floors and 1×2 walls. A metal ruler is the fence; the knife never freehands a grid.
  3. Stack two wall layers for height. Wrap the cut edge with a strip of kraft so corrugation does not read as cave.
  4. Mark P / M / L / R / E / V in pencil on 2×2 site cards. Do not sculpt a mill until Seed has used one.
  5. Black wash of cheap acrylic + water. Dry. Drybrush a single gray. That is enough for Test A.
  6. Store in a shoebox, not a display. The set is a tool.

House mats: 10 × 20 in is the preferred production size. For now, print the Create / Protect / Conquer tracks on parchment-colored paper and spray-mount to foamcore. Leave a facedown Path rectangle. Coin, Order, and wound tokens can be punched cardstock until you resin them.
