Instrument Cards
A universal language that reads in turn order
Every card is written to the same anatomy. Top-down action rail: Traverse → Command → Gesture, with legal timing highlighted. Left and right cost sockets for Goods, Coin, Order, Influence, Momentum, Clue, and prerequisites. Central instrument field for name, rule, target, range, duration, and values. Bottom UV resonance for blacklight lore or Veiled information.
Card-writing rules you can trust
- State timing, cost, target, effect, duration, then exception.
- Use “up to” when zero is legal and “must” when mandatory.
- Never imply creation when an effect is transfer, exchange, storage, or cap exception.
- Preserve separate hit and damage rolls.
- Define reactions and once-per-turn / cycle / Age consistently.
Print standard is poker / MTG trim: 2.5 × 3.5 in (63.5 × 88.9 mm). The current Micro product is 97 gameplay cards: 89 numbered Core plus 8 Encounter cards. Characters 001–020 and the eight Encounters remain in design. The 69 non-character Core cards, 021–089, have visual prototype renders.
